Where we are
Holiday lovers can enjoy all kinds of fun according to their abilities in our mountains. While those who prefer to relax can enjoy comfortable walks along which to stop, read a book, take suggestive photographs, refresh themselves in the refuges or picnic areas.
Colle Santa Lucia
The Cesa dele Angele is located at the center of Colle Santa Lucia (Belluno - Italy) at the heart of the Dolomites, the mountains that have been a Unesco "World Heritage Site" since 2009.
Colle Santa Lucia is a small village at an altitude of 1,453 meters. It has kept the typical character of tyrolean hamlets and has cherished the Ladin culture for 400 years. The village actually hosts the "Cesa de Jan", the Ladin Institute whose mission is preserving Ladin culture.
Among the heirs of this prestigious past, let’s remember the Fursil mines, which supplied the world with the iron needed to make swords for centuries, from the Middle Ages up to the Eighteenth Century.
It is exactly from this context that the Grimm brothers drew their inspiration for the "Snowhite and the Seven Dwarfs" fable.
Activities
Old-time traditions and a vision for the future, plus people who believe in the land they inhabit and invest in it. Like new-generation cattle and goat breeders, who maintain the meadows and forests while making high-quality, short supply-chain produce that can be purchased directly from them in the course of a visit to their facilities. How about a visit after one of the many possible hikes, be it quiet or demanding, that you can take in the area? Above them all, the Alta Via dell'Orso (the Bear high trail), which tours the places to which writer Matteo Righetto dedicated his best selling book "La Pelle dell'Orso" (The bear skin).
The entire valley and its surroundings are a paradise for hikers and climbers, a favourite destination for cyclists and motorbike riders in the summer, as well as for skiers in the Winter.
The area is also frequented in the fall by those who enjoy a quiet vacation or taking photos of the colorful turning foliage.
Some of the most celebrated and beautiful peaks of the Dolomites are right around the village: Pelmo, Civetta, Marmolada, Tofane and Lastoni di Formin. From just 10 km away, at the unparalleled Giau Pass, you can admire all those peaks at the same time. The scenery will become even more magical at dusk, when the colours of the Enrosadira Alpenglow will take your breath away.
Colle Santa Lucia is very central to the Dolomites and it is close to some of the most iconic towns in the area, which can be reached by driving over equally iconic passes. Cortina (30 km), Canazei (30 km), Corvara (30 km), Arabba (20 km), Alleghe (15 km).
